Born in Trutnov, studied chemistry on University of Pardubice where he decided that his biggest hobby will be Photography and especially the heme "Woman". He shoots portraits, but mainly nudes. For severall years he is an active member of the photoclub at Univerzity of Pardubice. After moving to Prague he is searching for some club here.

Accotding to the style he is using, Jan is selfeducated and even from the beginning he wanted to find heis own way and has found it in luminography in which he is fon for more than 3 years. Tjos technique is also called "painting with light". In oposition of the most of his colleques who just try this and then leave Jan Mlčoch use this technique continously to get better pictures then before. All the pictures are made by medium format camera and manually developed in dark room. Jan is proud that none of his prints is digitally manipulated. I is manipulated only by light and shadow during the exposition. The author is mostly using the lighter or darker contures in oposite of the background to draw the beauty of womans body. The contures are made by slight move of the model during the exposition.
